Let’s begin with the 24th Annual Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Festival, Endurance Events and Fundraisers a Northstar September 11-13, 2009.

Also at Northstar - Join us for a Sprint adventure! Solo competitors and teams of 2, 3 or 4 participate in kayaking, mountain biking, and trail running.
Starts: Sept. 19 at 8am.

Art Bark Fest 2009 - Animal Art & Wine Festival at Squaw Valley Sept. 19 - 20. The Art Bark Fest was created to combine the love of art & wine with the love of animals and is one of the only animal themed fine arts and wine festival in the country. The artwork varies from the work of Cholla the horse that paints abstract watercolors to a jeweler who creates a 14K gold necklace from your own dog's nose imprint. The fine wines will also be animal themed.

September 23-27 Lake Tahoe Marathon Week 2009
The 3-Day Tahoe Triple Marathon, Lake Tahoe Triathlon, The 3-Day Lake Tahoe Triathlon, Marathon, Marathon Relays, 1/2 marathon, 10K, 5K, Bike, Kayak, Swim events, 20 Mile Power Walk and Extreme Golf on Wednesday & more! And the new 72 mile Tahoe Ultra Marathon which runs around Lake Tahoe. Optional activities include: 2 Day Sports & Fitness Expo, Around the Lake & Course Tour, Sunset Pasta Cruise; Gourmet Finish Line Brunch, Saturday Night Awards Party and a Spectator Bus.

September 26 Tahoe Sierra Century Bike Ride
30, 60 & 100 mile scenic bike ride starts and finishes in the Village all to benefit the local high school & middle school bands. Riders can enjoy live music from our local talent while feeding on pasta & cold beer from Fireside Pizza Co.

The City of South Lake Tahoe is a very unusual place and it is situated in two states of the USA in Nevada and in California. Lake Tahoe can be named the North American Continent’s largest Alpine lake since it covers the whole area of 191.6 square miles. What is more this lake is the third deepest lake in North America. The lake never freezes in winter and never becomes very warm in summer. It belongs to the kind of places where the sun shines 75% of the year. I mean it. The sun shines 274 days. There are a lot of valleys and bays on the shores of lake and they were born thanks to numerous glaciers.

Brew Fests, art shows, throughout the fall. Great casino headline concerts happen in the fall. Robert Cray is Sept. 19th for example.
