About Lake Tahoe
It's beautiful and fun here. Lake Tahoe has the largest alpine lake in North America. At 6221 feet of elevation, Lake Tahoe offers incredible alpine scenery, a pure blue lake, and snow capped mountain vistas. This makes it perfect for fun outdoor activities. It's 12 miles wide, 22 miles long, and the driveable shoreline is 72 scenic miles around. Tahoe benefits from ideal seasonal weather patterns, with 308 days of sunshine, an average summer temperature of 78 degrees with low to no humidity with over 90 epic feet of snow annually. This ensures a great outdoor experience for our Lake Tahoe vacation rental guests.
From Heavenly Ski Resort, lake tahoe's premier winter playground, down to Edgewood's lakeshore golf course, and to our incredible beaches, South Lake Tahoe is a true outdoor paradise. Visitors return regularly for the great hiking, biking, sailing, wonderfully entertaining nightlife and a vast array of annual events near your South Lake Tahoe vacation rental. Visitors can start their day with a bike or hike on the Lake Tahoe Rim Trail, head over to scenic Emerald Bay on a paddle-wheel cruise boat, end the day gaming and dancing the night away to live local or celebrity entertainment.
Our lake tahoe vacation rental guests can enjoy year-round casino show revues, film festivals, fireworks (twice a year), food and wine festivals, and quality show headliners rivaling Las Vegas. There is a wide variety of dining options, both in and out of the casinos. From live music on the beach, to apres ski venues in the Heavenly Village center. We recommend to our guests, Freshies, The Chart House, Chevy's, The Riva Grill, Thai One On, Samurai Sushi, and the Red Hut Cafe for breakfast, just to name a few.
Most visitors fly into our closest airport; Reno/Tahoe International(RNO) which is 50 miles from South Lake Tahoe. Others arrive from Sacramento airport at 98 miles away and San Francisco Airport is 200 miles away.
The Tahoe Basin is home to a variety of wildlife. Black bears are the most popular, coyotes are the most audible, squirrels the most visible, bald eagle the most majestic, plus Sierra Nevada red fox, Raccoon, Beaver, Chipmunk, and Red-Tailed Hawk, to name a few. The alpine forests contain Jeffrey and lodgepole pine, red and white fir. Nature abounds with meadows, streams, rock outcrops, waterfalls, and manzanita bush -- a photographer's paradise.
